We are a pub too, not just an eating house

Why not call in and enjoy a relaxing drink in our comfortable bar, or even a coffee or tea.  We are open Tuesday to Saturday and we have a log fire burning most months of the year. Pub food and restaurant meals are available at all opening times, check out serving times.

There is plenty of room in our welcoming bar lounge and in the summer months many of our regulars sitting outside at one of our outside tables, situated in shaded and sunny spots, with a view of the idyllically situated Winston 13th century church, a favourite for celebrity nuptials.

We serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as hot and cold refreshments.

You are most welcome to visit our historic village pub and restaurant.

We are only minutes away from Barnard Castle, Gainford, Staindrop, Caldwell, Piercebridge and Richmond, see map

How about a walk down to the Winston bridge, imagine the spitfire flying beneath it, then along the river banks, back up through the woods towards the church, take in the view, then call in the village pub for a lovely, refreshing pint of local & select real ales, 20 minutes for the walk, as long as you llke in the pub!
